Let's bring some order to this mess :-) Here is a list of items which we should do for v1.2. We need to have a beta, we will fix more of the bugs for final release. Plz put your name below any of the items you want to do yourself and indicate whether you'll do it for beta release or the final. Here it is:
Critical: - Up to dated distribution: it only contains lib and docs/tags right now. Where are samples? Docs? License files? - Fix the log4j configuration problem: -Dlog4j.configuration doesn't seem to work. - Update docs for: how to check out xdoclet-all and how to build, new library dependencies to Ant 1.5 beta 2 or higher, etc. - Finalize and stabilize docs: all links should work - Complete xtags.xml files for all modules: many of the modules just have dummy placeholder xtags.xml files. - Subtask documentation: complete the template which generates the docs for tasks and subtasks. - [ 521571 ] Remote/Local Home finders ignore types - Fix the class name resolution mechanism: see recent thread RE: [Xdoclet-devel] CVS update: xdoclet/samples/src/java/test/ejb CustomerBean.java :-) - Refactor ejb:ejb-ref/external-ref and make it backward compatible: see the thread RE: [Xdoclet-devel] RE: [Xdoclet-user] ejb-body.xdt :-) Non-critical: - xjavadoc support for: assert keyword, }; blocks, and Unicode escape chars - Support test and samples targets in modules-common.xml: each module should be able to have a set of tests and samples. - FR [ 527562 ] abstract vendor from CMP tags: support more application servers, ideally for all ejb2 servers which we support. - All the bugs :-) Lower priority: - xdoclet-modules-all.jar generation: a jar containing all modules for easier use. - FR [ 512180 ] make ejb:select a method level @tag - making xjavadoc faster by: using a flyweight for binary class/methods/etc, removing parts of the grammar which are not useful for our usage Add any other item you find missing from the above list. And please take a look at feature requests and bugs and close any of the fixed ones. My proposed schedule is: - Beta -> this weekend (ready for June 24) - Final -> July 8st But it all depends whether we make it for that date and whether our release manager (Andrew) is happy with those dates. Anyway I want someone to officially track documentation and ensure it's up to date and correct. Anyone volunteering for this role?
