Not that I expected it to be there, it just seemed that all development of the XML Catalog Spec on w3c just drops off the internet around Summer 2001. Either interest went elsewhere or I guess everyone has really reliable internet connections these days and only use w3c schemas for validation. ;-)

Right now I'm just trying to disentangle it from Xerces 1.4.4 because it would be much more valuable for us on its own infront of the JAXP interface. I need "reliable" local sources for remote DTD locations that may be down.

thanks for the news,

Hi Mark,

Those ties to old Xerces code, combined with the fact that almost no one
seemed to use this code, were, I believe, the primary reasons this didn't
make it into Xerces 2. Xerces 2's been around now for almost 9 months in
production-quality rleases, and, to my knowledge, you're the first to ask
about the whereabouts of this stuff.

If you were to update this code to work with Xerces 2, however, there might
well be interest in the community for seeing it re-integrated. (I make no
guarantees though; it is, evidently, scantly used functionality.)

Cheers,
Neil

I noticed that XCatalog got removed from Xerces java version two. I'm
curious why? I wanted to use it so I thought I'd pull it from the old
verion, but its pretty tied into the package, using xerces URI and
SAXParser classes. Any tips?
