Thanks... hopefully I can actually contribute something here.
I'd love to run Mach on my laptop (currently I'm running RH Linux 7.0).
I've always thought that Mach was positioned to be what Linux has
become -- I remember Rick (Rashid) wanting to hand out Mach boot
floppies at Usenix back in... 1990? -- but when Rick left for
Microsoft and a bunch of us followed (or just plain graduated), the
Mach project at CMU just fell apart.

I know that Apple is now using Mach (via NeXT and Avie, of course),
and that's very cool, but... it's not Mach as I remember it.
