Hi!
Feeling in the mood to play some of my old NES games, I compiled xmess.x11
(37b15.2). I can load SNES roms ok, but if I try to load NES roms I just get:

Unable to initialize machine emulation
this happens for all my roms. I've tried to dowload some off the net to see
if perhaps I had damaged my roms, but I get the same thing. I had xmess
working quite a while ago. I even tried to delete my .xmess dir to see if
there was something there it didn't like. No luck
any ideas?
