Well I am still here and I am watching the World Cup and getting very frustrated at my PSX joypad. I have a DirectPad Pro PSX interface built that works in windows just fine. However I can not get Linux to recognize it.
I have the parport module compiled and insmoded/ I then run modconf to configure the gamecon module I pass it the gc=0,7 or gc=0,7,0,0,0,0 to tell it I am using a PSX pad on parport0 and I get this error /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/char/joystick/gamecon.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/char/joystick/gamecon.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/char/joystick/gamecon.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/char/joystick/gamecon.o: insmod gamecon failed The odd thing is that when I boot into windows I can se the light on the pad that shows dualshock light up, but when I boot into Linux it doesn't light up. Like Linux isn't giving any power to the parport. Any ideas.
