Hello all,
Any thoughts on how hard it would be to make scaling/effects switchable during the playing of a game? I know advmame supports this, but their use of these effects appears to be different anyway. I haven't had the time yet to delve deep enough into the code to figure out the calling of the effect/scaling functions to give a proper answer to this.

You can already change scaling using shift + page up / shift + pagedown, this will only work when you're not using effects, since each effects comes with a fixed scale, adding effect switching on the fly should be easy.
