There is an ffb driver in the X.Org source, but I've never gotten it to
build on Solaris since it depends on the DRI kernel interfaces used in
BSD & Linux.

I don't think there will be usable Solaris SPARC graphics support in the
X.org open source release any time in the forseeable future unfortunately.
We may be able to get binary Xorg drivers out for some SPARC graphics cards,
but not likely source we can contribute to Xorg. Unfortunately, the cards
the SPARC graphics group are most likely to be willing to put in effort on
Xorg drivers for are the recent models which are OEM'ed from other vendors,
and not the older models Sun made ourselves.
If you really want to have source to both your X server and graphics card
modules, x86 is sadly the only real choice, and only if you give up the
performance boosts of closed source drivers like the ones from nVidia.
