I'm having a slightly different issue, but I'm running within a
VirtualBox 3.0 VM on a Mac OS X host. The X worked in 2009.06, but
once I upgrarded to b117, I don't get to gdm at all, just a console
login.
One note before I post my Xorg.0.log, on the console (running Xorg
-probeonly) the following was displayed on the console:
error ent = 1073741820
