PS while the Elite 3D is said to be faster at 3D and also even at 2D than the Creator, the reason I chose to get a (used) Creator 3D series 3 is that it can do higher resolutions like 1600x1200 (limit of my cheap CRT) or 1920x1080 (HD TV) or even 1920x1200 if one has a monitor that's up to it. AFAIK, the Elite 3D tops out at 1280x1024. I've been using 1600x1200 long enough now that less would seem very crowded.
The XVR-1000 gives me both resolution and speed, but if I have to give it up when Xsun goes away, I think I'd rather have resolution (Creator 3D series 3) over speed (Elite 3D). This message posted from opensolaris.org
