With over 30,000 employees in over 70 countries working on thousands of
different products, a complex internal structure is required to keep everyone
organized. It's not really that different from other companies of similar
sizes, you can just see it more readily now with Sun's increased transparency
in the era of OpenSolaris and public blogging and such.

Sorry - I thought I had made that quite clear in the past, when issues came
up such as allowing distros to redistribute the SPARC graphics drivers that
all I could do was pass on to the SPARC graphics group.

Unfortunately, that pretty much lines up with when most of us will be
unavailable. Sun's US offices are closed for the holidays from Dec. 23 -
Jan. 1, and many employees take vacation a few extra days before or
after.
