Right - there was a lot of discussion, but no one stepped up to do the
15-30 minutes worth of work needed at the time to finish the formal
project proposal for it - if that was too much work, it seemed unlikely

with the open font libraries would happen.

I for one would be quite happy to put in the time - I think it would be
am interesting project. I suspect that there was some confusion
about what that 15-30 minutes of work was or who would do it (I
see more messages arriving that seem to confirm this theory).

I didn't think I was setting the bar that high for demonstrating interest
- just finishing the proposal and sending it out for a formal vote, then
reporting the vote results to project-setup when it was done.

That bar doesn't seem very high :-(.

Under the new constitution, it's even lower, since its mostly just filing
a bug report and getting one other person to add their +1 to it, but again,
I don't know if the window has closed forever or not, and I'm certainly not
going to have time to work on cleansing the sources for release until after
I've finished my current big project of converting the X gate to build IPS
packages natively.

That's understood. So would it make sense to file an RFE (on defects or bugs?)
asking for the XSun sources to be made available) if we can get a few people
to add their +1s to it? Then it could sit there until you have time to do
your part.

If it turns out there's more than one person capable and willing to actually
put in the time, do you think the work can be partitioned?

Thanks -- Frank
