Cde, Sometimes it is always good to shove anther text so as not to quench that text's fire...or dilute what it meant to say... Anyway, I found nothing wonderfull or contrctive in what Petrs had to say but I wanted to SHOVE another text which had a totally different view of what Petras was saying about the same situation... Before saying what i need to say on the subject of syndicalism..let me start by making one correction...Hugo Chavez ddn't stage a coup...he's the one who was toppled but was reinstated by popular revolt in 2001 within a day....he was a president who won elections in 1998...drafted a new constitution for the Bolivarian republic of Venezuela and got toppled by the right wingers with the aid of a prominent trade Union which aided those right wingers then...From 2001..he's approach had been gradualist...if you might say..for 4 years until he declared socialism in a 2005 Mayday rally...That is exactly what Zelaya intended to do in Honduras...He's approach had been proto-socialism for for years and upon declaration...he sought to use the experiences he gain in the past 4 yaers..and one of his inventions was the LEGENDARY SOCIAL PRODUCTION ENTERPRISES which are co-operatives whose profits are socialised for the benefit of the society....now those are not syndicalist and they were never syndicalist but they were from 2001 to 2005 , prototypes of what was to be implemented in years to come....Coming to our situation...i don't see any fundumental problem with prototyping the present day parastatals so that when there's a full swing of nationalisation...we know exactly all the shortfalls of our new model from the prototypes...
to be more precise, there is nothing wrong with nationalisation of mines if we can begin to prototype the already existing Parastatals to our desired model...which hypothetically would involve: 1. Joint-Management-labour board of directors.. 2. Joint management labour production committees at shopfloor level' 3. Distruction of heirarchy of organisational heirarchy and esablishment of a flat structure composed of committees... 4. Openning of socialisation funds according to key priority areas..e.g health, eduation etc.. The above can all be done during the capitalist phase and that's a dialectic of nature..called...Action-Reaction...and there's nothing unscientific about it... Not unless we can adopt that approach and attitude as the SACP can we find proper footing in the Nationalisation debate...I mean come to think of it why therefore if we are anti-syndicalist do we have to maintain the alliance with the ANC...why if we are anti-gradualist do we have to allow our comrades to be in acapitalist parliament...so I think we need to contextualise these issues....
