It is a pity that the newspaper extract on this forum only highligts that David Masondo is the National Chairperson of YCLSA and does not claim that he wrote in his official capacity. Anyway what is important is that the YCLSA leadership seems to want to tell the world that is not united, the reason being that the National office bearers do not indicate if they did communicate to comrade Masondo on the said article and his response.
We might not get into merits of the issue vis a vis what the YCLSA seeks to achieve. We all agree that issues touching upon the alliance must be dealt with in alliance foums, however that must not intimidate our views on capitalism. Comrade Samora Machel once said - our struggle was not a struggle to replace white with black, but our struggle was a struggle against a system a system of capitalism. He said these words when adressing the black managers who had just replaced the whites at workplaces and they were behaving like the whites (fortunately he was the president of the country and was not intimidated) Let us build it with honesty and not in a manner of pleasing some members who in conduct are in no way in defense of the alliance.
