Cdes, what is clear here is that there is a problem with these institutions.
They way they carry themselves as if they are independent, but when they run
out of money they know that the tax payer foots the bill. It can not continue
like that. We work so hard for this money. The SABC promised a turnaround a
long time ago, but until now they are still talking about recovery. Yet there
are people called Group Executives who are being paid huge ammount of money
while the foot soldiers, journalists are being paid peanuts. This can not be
right, for how long will the fat cats going to continue gaining weight at the
expense of the working class and the poor?
These billions we are talking about here can go a long way in providing ARVs to
HIV positive poor South Africans or support community based cooperatives that
contribute in fighting poverty and unemployment.
I think the members of the proggresive movements need to publicly condemn
thismobilise the communities against this form of looting tax payers money.
Organisations like South African Communisty Party, Cosatu with all its
affiliated trade unions, progressive Youth leaugues and NGOs need to speak with
one voice on these issues. South Africa has got so many challenges to be
throwing money away to benefit just a few that is already FAT ANYWAY.

Cdes I have a problem with government funding these parastatals when they are
supposed to be generating

their own income and their CEO's are given extremely fat salaries and bonuses.

Look at what happened with SAA during Nqula's tenure, and what is happening
with Eskom, we are paying

abnormal fees for electricity now because of problems created by ESKOM, SABC
are buying expensive

programes overseas ignoring our own brew programmes which are realy speaking to
us, just imagine VC

his own programme for an hour on national television, what positive impact that
could play to our society

instaed of Bold and these comedies from America which i doubt if theres any S.A
sitcom playing in Americas

television, Asikhulume.
