Dear comrades,

Are you aware that the ANC resolution calls for 60 percent funding for the
public broadcaster? Currently, the public mandate to inform,educate and
entertain is funded from commercially generated revenue which is not
sustainable for a kind of a developmental state that we seek to build. Can
you please have a matured debate about the role of a public broadcaster.

The migration from analogue is a huge infrastructure project that require
funding from the shareholder, just like shareholders in private companies
are required to source funding for capital projects. Domza, please moderate
this debate before it is generalised as per the dictates of the SA media and
some grupings in society that are not comfortable with SABC remaining a
public broadcaster.

Comradely,

Cedric Gina.
