*ANC Women’s League Gauteng mourns the death of Cde Ntsiki Magazi* ** *“Ulale ngoxolo mbokodo yesizwe”* * * [image: http://www.anc.org.za/gauteng/images/wl-logo.gif]** *14 November 2011* The ANC Women’s league in Gauteng mourns the untimely death of Comrade Nontsikelelo Mavis Magazi, an ANC Women’s’ League Gauteng Provincial Executive Member, Member of Parliament and former SANCO PEC member. We send our deepest condolences to the family, cadres, relatives and friends. Her death came at the most crucial period in the history of the ANC in Gauteng when the movement is pushing to accelerate the celebrations of the ANC centenary.**** ** ** She passed away on Friday morning, 11 November, at the Clinton Clinic in Alberton after battling with illness. The ANC WL will miss her strength, bravery and selflessness. As a PEC member, she worked for a strong Alliance led by the ANC as a strategic centre of power. Magazi joined Parliament in 1999. She has served in a number of parliamentary portfolio committees such as higher education & training and communications.**** ** ** Throughout her life, she always emphasized benevolence to cultivate social relations at workplace and in the community. She was very instrumental in the establishment of the SANCO National women’s desk in 1993. She also served as a volunteer in the office of Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at the ANC Women’s League in 1990s.**** Her death will further strengthen the Alliance in working towards a National Democratic Revolution and the Freedom Charter.**** ** ** The ANC Women’s League has lost a true cadre; she served the people of South Africa in general and women in particular very well by ensuring equality, dignity and a good life for our people.
