Comrade Matela is very important that in a debate we use a correct context, the ANC will continue to maintain its revolutionary character as long as society is still living in poverty, jobless all forms of social ills still exist in our society. The people of our country and Africa in general have yet to receiver total liberation therefore there is a need for the ANC to maintain it revolutionary character. The ANC was not formed to be government, government is a tool o advance our revolutionary agenda, it is unfortunate that such an important tool is being abused by some of us who claim to be revolutionaries

The statement alone can appear confusing and misleading in the light of Limpopo being the anchor of the tendency and populist demagogue threatening to divert and derail our revolution. I also do not feel the GS statement was informed by the number of leaders the province has produced, because while we have produced great leaders like Cde Makgatho who was the president of the ANC, CDE Sparks Ramagoma, Peter Mokaba,Joe Maswanganyi, and many more, so many more have been produced elsewhere in the country. Im more than convinced that the characterisation was informed by an observation of the political challenges that the province have faced previously and how its cadres have risen to defeat such challenges. If you care to rewind a few years back before Polokwane 2007 at the height of the 1996 class project, Limpopo was not left out in this challenges. Very progressive comrades were sidelined and dealt with just because they did not agree on the path that the ANC was being taken to. State resources were used to manipulate normal ANC processes ( e.g. conferences ) You will remember how cde Sparks was dealt with and cde Joe Maswanganyi was not spared the attack. We however also observed how the structures of the ANC revolted against the class project until its demise in Polokwane and Univen conferences. So, in the light of the populist demagogue which has captured both the Limpopo government and the ANC, we are assured that we have culpable cadres in this province who can wage a strong defence of the ANC. It is now that the province must rise to expectation through structures of the ANC begin to lay a foundation for a national defence of the ANC. Im very sure that other provinces are waiting to see how Limpopo will deliver itselft from the clutches of anarchist and narrow accumulative populist demagogue. We owe it to Sparks Ramagoma to ensure that Limpopo should not fell on wrong hands.....and yes ....If the GS comes in Limpopo sometime next year....he must with pride still say: Limpopo is the home of the revolution.
