Did some more tests today and found out that the calendar reacts quickly as usual on my old MacBook with OS 10.5. but the same version of Entourage, the same exchange-account and the same amount of events. It synched the calendar as usual and then I could flip through the months and move events like in the old days. Database daemon never went higher than 25% of CPU usage. So it's not the Exchange server.
Then I duplicated my main identity on my new MacBook Pro. Same problem: As soon as I move an event to another day the Database Daemon jumps up to 99 %, the beach ball appears and I can go make myself a coffee before the changes are done. Then I created a completely new Exchange-account. Same problems. I even re-emptied the cache, to no avail. It feels as if I screwed up the cache when I emptied it a few weeks ago. (Everything worked perfectly with this configuration until then!) Is it located within the database in documents/user data? If not can I locate it and maybe delete it so that Entourage creates a new one? I can't re-install Office 2004 because the software-disks are a few 1000 kilometres from where I am now. But I should have backups of the MS Office folder on my Time Capsule - and I have the version on my old MacBook that seems to work well. If only I had any idea if it's really the software itself that's the problem. Thanks!
