One more thing I just noticed: On my new, troubled computer I seem to have checked "Save changes (to events) automatically" somewhere along the way. On my old, working computer Entourage still keeps asking me if I want to save changes to new/altered events.
To me this seems promising, but I can't find where to "uncheck" this. I deleted every preference list in sight but I don't seem to have found it yet. Neither Help nor the internet can answer this question.
