rpm-4.4.2-37.el5? Or will the new RPM be required?

The patch I sent didn't have a fallback, but it was only to demonstrate what sort of change is involved ("if <cond>: exit" in download callbacks basically). Graceful fallback to older rpm's is easily accomplished though by just checking if the necessary symbols exist in rpm bindings or not.
