Attachment reflects desire, desire reflects attachment. Grasping. Desire to get something other than what is. The there's desire to escape/be rid of something that is - rejection. Same motion, different perceived direction. Then there is the 'self' who does so. Groping around in the dark, holding on to this, pushing away from that, to orient self...
