A few quick questions if someone has a couple minutes. I have all of the above and more. Nearly 500 devices spread across 192.168.10.x, 15,x, 30,x 40.x, 60.x, and 70.x. I have Windows 98/2k/XP, Server 2000/03, Linux (Debian 3/4, Ubuntu 7.10), Dell managed switches, HP/Brother/Lexmark printers, Linksys/Dlink print servers, HP NAS, and more. It's a lot to look at and I need organization some how. These should be common questions, but I have a more than a few and I haven't been able to find them all.
1. How do I get Zenoss to see them all? Many seem to get "WARNING:zen.ZenDisc:no snmp found for ip =" and then are not listed. 2. Can Zenoss list all unknown IP's that it sees? 3. Not all workstations at remote locations have a common admin user or password, can I put in multiple to check? 4. Do I need to run a client on every system or make changes? 5. Will I need to manually add my 500 some odd devices? 6. If so, how well does Zenoss detect unauthorized new devices? 7. Is there a good step by step document that covers installation and how to set up Zenoss for most devices? 8. Anything I missed that I should know? -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=19040#19040 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
