To get maps working properly, you just put the address in the / Locations/YourLocation->Address field. Whatever works in Google Maps will work pretty well here. If you have constantly moving locations, you could probably script something to update the addresses dynamically, speaking of eye candy :)

Hi,

First I want to say thanks for an amazing product. I have been testing several solutions lately, and in my opinion there is no comparison even with the most expensive products. :)

I work for an offshore company and have several vessels connected by satellite to the main office. In due time, I'd like to monitor clients and equipment on the vessels, but for now I would just like to set up a simple solution to monitor satellite connection/ availability.

What I would like to do is manually add the MUX in the office and on each vessel and just ping for availability (no snmp option on this equipment) and hooking it all up to the google maps portlet for some personal eye candy. :)

What is a bit tricky as far as I can see, is getting the alerts at a reasonable level. The vessels are constantly moving, and drop off satellite quite frequently.

I don't really have a definitive question, just looking for some general advice getting this up and running smoothly.

I do have an "issue" with google maps though. Since I'm adding my devices manually, I don't have anything in /network and can not find a way to turn on zDrawMapLinks. Any way to get around this that I have missed?
