Hello, welcome to Zenoss. I'm a pretty new user myself, but I think I can answer your questions:
For the alerting, I would just try and find a reasonable setting for the "Delay" option of the alerts. If your average drop is 3 minutes, set it for 5 minutes (300). Then Zenoss won't page or email you unless connectivity has been down for 5 minutes. If it comes back before 5 minutes, you won't get alerted. As far as google maps go, as far as I know Zenoss uses layer 3 routes (which it gets via SNMP) to learn the device relationships. So if all of your devices are ping-only, then Zenoss doesn't have a clue how everything connects together. There's a lot of talk about adding layer 2 info to Zenoss, which would overcome this limitation for you... -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=21432#21432 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
