I don't currently know much about zendmd, but you can look at the 
underlying Zope information by going to the device in your web browser 
in Zenoss, and then appending /manage to the URL.

Then you can try deleting it from within the Zope interface. This should 
kill configuration info as it is stored in the ZODB, or at least I think 
it should.
