Even when we delete the device and delete all events and performance data,
there is some crust left in the internal configuration database, and there is
nothing wrong with the machine I am trying to monitor. I know this because I
put an /etc/hosts entry on the Zenoss server pointing a different name to the
target machine's IP, added the device, and all monitoring is working properly.

How can I locate and remove the invalid configuration? I am sure this is a
zendmd-type of activity, but I could use some assistance.
