It really comes down to how much you trust the SAN and transport technology.  
If you're happy that you've got a good SAN, and you have a transport that 
guarantees the integrity of the data then there's no reason ZFS shouldn't be 
reliable.

Personally I'd be happier once some of the recovery tools that have been 
discussed here have been made available, but then I don't often play with high 
end kit.  With good quality kit I suspect your risk of data loss is pretty low.
