Hey, wait a minute -- that's a mantra too! I don't think there's actually any substantive disagreement here -- stating that one doesn't need a separate program called /usr/sbin/fsck is not the same as saying that filesystems don't need error detection and recovery. There's quite a bit of that in the current code, and more in the works.
