Thanks in advance for your help

[videoblogging] Blip.tv cross-post to Blogger blog...Blogger issue?

2007-03-09 Thread byen
I'm a fan of Blip.tv, using it with great success, it's terrific.

I recently have been playing with Blip.tv's mobile-upload, with
cross-posting to Blogger blog:

http://07baja250.blogspot.com/

4 hrs ago, I was mobile-blogging videos to Blip.tv, which get cross-posted
to above blog. All of a sudden it quit working!!

I can't get Blip.tv to see any Blogger blogs, is this an issue with
Blogger?

Blogger recently was trying out a Beta, it's now online. I've heard
of some issues w/Blogger, I need some feedback from this group.

Thanks for any help/advice.

I usually have to manually post from blip to blogger. There's a blip js
thing that blogger doesn't like, so I usually end up just copy/pasting into
blogger - and then telling blogger that the js script is ok - and THEN my

[videoblogging] an interactive experiment for a feature length documentary...

2007-03-09 Thread mattfeldman78
I've been reading this list for awhile but never posted until now. I
wanted to let everyone know about a site that I set up for a feature
length documentary that I am producing, which we plan to release
online. We just finished shooting and I have been looking for ways to
work with this mass amount of footage that we have by releasing some
of it online and giving it an interactive flair. I thought that this
list might be a good place to get feedback---you can find the site
here: http://rxcannabis.pbwiki.com .

I'm using the Crowdabout player which I found on this list in addition
to Jumpcut as ways to stimulate involvement from the audience. I also
have a Flikzor widget for those of you on this list who might be
interested in sharing your thoughts about the project in a separate
vlog. The idea is to engage people in a way that will help shape the
film itself as we move into post production. I look forward to
hearing what everyone thinks about the site as well as the documentary.

I had to delete my Blogger blog and re-set it up, and it was fine.
But with my new Google login, not my old Blogger login. That's
important.

And David, Blogger will accept the js if it comes cross-posted from
Blip - you don't need to copy paste unless you want to. Then if
you need to edit the text in your post, it will show the error when
you click Publish, but - as you say - you can tell it to ignore the
error by checking the box and reclicking Publish.

ok, here is how to win some points with the maureen :)

what kind of computer does she have?

does she have a mac too?

if so, go to system preferences sharing applet and select the internet

set it up to share the ethernet over airport via pulldown and checkboxes

then say here honey, if there's only one cable, you should have it!

this will make you look very magnanimous (assuming that you are the one

just make sure she never closes the laptop lid ;)

may have to get a Google username on Blogger. Won't mess with your

The idea is not so much to teach video podcasting (although that could

project work, curriculum resources, or a way of keeping the children

I'm using the Crowdabout player which I found on this list in addition

have a Flikzor widget for those of you on this list who might be

If you've changed to the new Blogger, you need to re-do your credentials

By credentials you mean Blip.tv's Distribution/External Blogs? Do you

Are you in the old format or the new Blogger?

If you've changed to the new Blogger, you need to re-do your
credentials
 at
 Blip.

My Blogger blog is under the new Blogger (an older Blogger account,
that
was upgraded to the Google signin).

By credentials you mean Blip.tv's Distribution/External Blogs? Do you
select Blogger Beta (what I do) or Blogger?

Like someone else mentioned, I'm getting hung up on the above..it won't
come back with a list of blogs.

However, when I try to use Distribution/Auto cross-posting to select it,
it doesn't work. After I hit update, then I go back.. the blog is

The system being designed by eBay, which is working with a group of

intended to make it easier for buyers to efficiently locate

Some networks are concerned about losing control of their ad inventory

2007-03-09 Thread heather gold
It's great that VON is embracing vloggers. one word of warning. Think
carefully about which email address and phone number (if any) you
want to submit.

I registered as a freelancer and my email address and phone number
(cell of all things) was put on the press list and I've received a
bajiion VOiP pitches from pr peeps around the country. It will be a
matter of time to see if my cell # is salvageable, although they were
nice enough to take it off the main list, it's already out there.

You would think fro the # of emails and calls I've been getting that
this conference is mainly focussed on VOIP, which is certainly not my
area of interest at all. When one pr person asked me what i was
interested in I told her really, video on the Net . :-)

Video on the Net for Videobloggers

Jeff Pulver just asked me to extend out an invitation for any
videobloggers on this list to attend Spring 2007 Video on the Net,
which is March 20-22nd in San Jose, CA.

By invitation, I'm saying that he'd like to invite you to attend (and
vlog if you so choose) as his guest.

*Stipulation: you have to have an active, current videoblog.
*Stipulation: you have to tell us by March 17th.

Otherwise, we want you to come join the community and the conversation.

http://videoonthenet.com

Please send mail if you're interested. I'll need:

Name
Company (or Videoblog name)
URL to the Videoblog
Title (as you want it on the badge)
Mailing Address
Phone
Email

If you haven't checked out who's speaking and/or who from Network2 is
on the show floor, please take a look. It's going to be lots of fun.

Drop me a line,

2007-03-09 Thread [chrisbrogan.com]
Heather (and all considering attending Video on the Net as per our
previous post inviting you to attend as our guests)--

We've just taken measures to ensure that this doesn't happen again, as
the issue seems to be that by giving videobloggers true press
credentials adds you to a registered press list. While this seems
useful and credible, it also means that PR folks representing the
Voice part of the conference might inadvertently reach out to you who
are interested in the Video part.

As I said in my personal email, sorry for the inconvenience, as it
sounds rather annoying. Hopefully, that will trickle down and slow.

For those of you interested in going, please send me email. blog at
chrisbrogan.com, and I'll get you set up.

[videoblogging] Search results return correct URL but..

2007-03-09 Thread bordercollieaustralianshepherd
I have a really wierd problem. I just did a search to locate sites
that would be relevent to a site (I set up) created to benifit the
local film and video community. My intention was to work with others
in the biz to build a reference site to compliment (not compete with)
the existing personal, industry, and city government sites.

Google and Yahoo return a list with the expected results. Checking the
status bar (before clicking the links) the URL is displayed correctly.
But when the link is clicked the browser redirects to a porn site
(subdomain to ind.in/ref.php) with a link that has/had the name of our
site, but the link leads to monstermarketplace.com

If I (right click) copy the link and paste it into the address bar the
correct site loads.

It is not a random site that the search engine result list links to.
It is the same site. Two reasons I am not posting the link here: first
is is porn, second I think it is a click for cash and I don't want the
per(v)p to make any money.

Clicking a search result always leads to the same porn site (same URL
and grahics) but the list of links displayed change just like one of
those pages that are used as a placeholder/search for affiliate marketing.

Any ideas how to either correct this. Report it. Determine what
happened and how to avoid it.

Dave

Hi Scott! I've been enjoying your videos, especially the orchid

You can add any media file you are watching to your favorites list by
clicking the star icon at the top area of the player. Lots of other
cool tools up in that area, too. Just hover your mouse over each one

Hope that helps!

[videoblogging] Breaking down media control

2007-03-09 Thread andrew michael baron
Interesting email I got. Attacking the msm for a presidential politician is
very risky, but you can almost imagine the implications as it reads.

The potential is great which we all know, but it feels like we may soon reach a
tipping point.

Email:

You may have heard by now that John Edwards was the first candidate to
officially say no to the Fox News debate in Nevada –- and because of
the hard work of so many grassroots and netroots Democrats, news
is breaking tonight that Fox is out.

Fox has already started striking back at John for saying no. (There's
a surprise – Fox attacking a Democrat.) Last night, Roger Ailes – the
life-long Republican operative who is now Chairman of Fox News
Channel – said that any candidate who believes he can blacklist
any news organization is making a terrible mistake and is impeding
freedom of speech and free press.

And John's not their only target. Tonight Fox News Vice President
David Rhodes is telling news organizations not to get involved in the
Nevada Democratic Caucus because of radical fringe groups –
meaning grassroots Democrats (that would be you) – who objected to
Fox's long history of spreading Republican propaganda at the expense
of Democratic leaders.

The whole right wing is getting in on the attack; the Drudge Report is
blaring the headline: War! Dems Pull Out of Fox News Debate.

Enough is enough. It's time to send a clear message to Fox News and
their allies that their right-wing talking points and temper tantrums
won't go unchallenged anymore – when it comes to what Democrats
should do in the Democratic primary, we'll decide – no matter what
they report:

http://johnedwards.com/r/7146/53693/

Fox News has already proven they have no intention of providing fair
and balanced coverage of any Democrat in this election.

In recent weeks they have run blatant lies about Senator Obama's
background. And Fox was only too happy to give Ann Coulter a platform
to spew more hate a few days after her bigoted attack on Senator
Edwards and the gay community.

Now it's time for Democrats to stand together and send a clear message
to Roger Ailes, Fox News and all the rest of them: bias isn't balance,
but turning tables is fair:

http://johnedwards.com/r/7147/53693/

The truth is, Fox News can report whatever they want. And when it
works for us, we'll deal with them on our terms. But this campaign is
about responsibility and accountability, and we need to send the
message to Fox that if they want to be the corporate mouthpiece of
the Republican Party more than they want to be an impartial news
outlet, they shouldn't expect Democrats to play along.

You can send that message by contributing today, and remind Fox News
that in this election, Democrats won't take their spin lying down:

http://johnedwards.com/r/7148/53693/

Thank you for standing up for what we believe in.

Jonathan Prince
Deputy Campaign Manager
John Edwards for President

P.S. If the folks at Fox wonder why nobody thinks they play it
straight, they should take a look at what Roger Ailes said
about debates in 1988 when he was a top Republican
spinmaster for then Vice President Bush: He told the Washington
Post, I don't know that we need to do more than one [debate].
There's no reason to think we'd need more than one. And he
told the New York Times, I don't think you learn anything about
the issues from debates. So please send Roger Ailes a message:
Hypocrisy isn't fair and it isn't balanced; it's just hypocrisy -
and we've had enough of it from you.
