I just upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10 and suddenly I couldn't resolve the host.
The ip and DNS was correct.
The nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf was 127.0.0.1. I changed it to the DNS
directly and all went swell.
I had to install dnsmasq for it to work

I am a long-time follower of bug 781737, but I have found that I had to
take the same measures as comment #5. In particular, groups in LDAP
that share the same name as a predefined group in /etc/group are

Nope, it's not working for me (precise). I activated the xorg-edgers PPA
both on my server and clients, and I can't even start an OpenGL

the mouse start to freeze again. Both touchpad and external mouse, which has
been stable for couple months.

I'm not sure your issue is a bug in policykit.
It seems to be more likely a configuration issue.
