You *might* be able to find that info by running the GTKInspector. There is a panel that will show you the current values of various UI elements. But no guarantee it will show you the actual font used rather than just a declaration. It’s worth a shot I suppose if it is really important to

I finally solved it! Thank you Adrien. I followed your lead and examined the style sheets. There I found out that the default style sheets has Fonts set to NONE. I still don't quite understand what default font GNUCASH defaults to if it is set at NONE but I experimented and created my own style

Your font probably doesn’t have that symbol. Check your custom CSS file and find a different font. I’d use either the Mac Character Viewer or Font Book to find a suitable one. It looks like that is Unicode 20B1. A simple search in Character Viewer for ‘peso’ brought it right up. Select the
