That's simplifying things. My comments were said that sampling and adding some rhymes didn't constitute pushing things in new directions. I enjoy a lot of that stuff quite a bit, but it's popcorn. There's nothing -wrong- with popcorn, and I like a lot of music that has no aims except to entertain.... but if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's not pushing things.
...but in general, yes, most sampling does not bring much creativity. You need to take that Hitler shite elsewhere, though.
