it's called time-stretching, keeps the pitch but changes the tempo. 
then there's pitch-shifting. which does just the opposite. changes the 
pitch but not the tempo. ableton doesn't reach the quality of acid in 
time-stretching but it is, afterall, quite new software (and warp-marks 
rule!). before acid, sound forge did it quite well.
