I think people will have these discussions in the awareness that they
are off-topic, but as long as no-one says anything people will try to
get away with it! But if there are protests then people will drop the
topic. I guess 313 has always had a bit of a tendency to do this sort of
thing though - it moves in cycles really. 

And no, I don't want to end up creating a meta-thread here :)
