whoever they are, it bugs me that they constantly use those cheap paper
sleeves. you'd think that if they are saving so much $ on design they
could at least cough it up for some real cardboard.

I love that one record label called "white label" - they have all
sorts of
music - very diverse (but lots of it is crap) and there is no info on
any
of their records at all, it's the ultimate in typesetting, imho,
although
sometimes they have a simple black stamp that says "promo" - whatever
the
hell that means
anyone know where I can find a discog for them?

label design and music are equally important.
Some labels have a minimal approach to design or at least they try even
though it doesn't look right.

What do you mean for no other reason?
How a name looks and sounds is pretty important when designing a
techno
label.
"The label name KMS works well using the letter k especially in
caps,
it's a
nice short abbreviated word, the letter k is not being used as a
clever
substitution in a word."
I actually thought the music was important. Seems like it's secondary
to
the music though. I'd sooo not buy a record that had good music but
the
label art or name was poorly executed.
I just bought the new Moodymann record. Whilst the music was kinda
cool,
I loved the cover with the rose, but the clincher was that I thought
this
cat was on the level as he uses two "n's" in Moodymann.
I feel sorry those people who release a record with nothing more than
a
hand stamped piece of information on it like some of those Ersatz
Audio
records. They must sell so few records, same for those records like M6
and M7. I mean like who the hell is it and what sort of name is M for
a
label? :/
