true, a 909 sounds like a 909. not a huge variety of sounds there, though I love those sounds! i suppose the solution would be to unplug the audio and just use the 909 as a pattern sequencer. trigger sounds from a sampler or other drum machine or whatever off of the 909's MIDI out. you still have that 909 interface and it's nice swing, but with all-new sounds. :)
