He was always someone who I thought would always be there. Someone who gave me hope that radio could move music forward and inspire people to listen and open their minds a bit, to expose listeners to new sounds and even just comfort us with playing the familiar we don't get to hear everyday on Top40 FM.
His name was equal to a guarentee of quality, respect to the possibilities of sound and sometimes taking a chance on something you might not otherwise listen to. A guarentee of a kind of coolness that one can pouring from the dim glow of a club fog or world traveled bohemian. I didn't listen to every show. I didn't buy every record. Just the same, I admired from a distance. There will be a hole in radio now. However, I do hope that the spirit of his show continues with one of the many people he has inspired at the healm. --- "De Block, Mario" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > i remember him almost literally blowing my mind when > i tuned in on his show and he played a track by > ibrahim alfa called 'machine code'. what a pleasure > to see how low a person's aim to > conform can go > never forget that moment > M > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] schreef: > > > I am lost for words really, gutted being one but > also very sad for his family who have lost a man who > could conntect with people in a very special way. > RIP John.. > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Paul Kendrick > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Tue 10/26/2004 2:11 PM > > To: Martin Dust; 313 (E-mail) > > Cc: > > Subject: RE: (313) John Peel > > > > > > > > Gutted.
