He was always someone who I thought would always be
there. Someone who gave me hope that radio could move
music forward and inspire people to listen and open
their minds a bit, to expose listeners to new sounds
and even just comfort us with playing the familiar we
don't get to hear everyday on Top40 FM. 

His name was equal to a guarentee of quality,respect
to the possibilities of sound and sometimes taking a
chance on something you might not otherwise listen to.
A guarentee of a kind of coolness that one can pouring
from the dim glow of a club fog or world traveled
bohemian.

I didn't listen to every show. I didn't buy every
record. Just the same, I admired from a distance. 

There will be a hole in radio now.However, I do hope
that the spirit of his show continues with one of the
many people he has inspired at the healm.
