House nights are a little different in Sydney, but I think it still quite like this in the Sydney techno scene, perhaps since lots of people in it (and sydney techno in general) has come from that doof and rave background.

So for me, while yeah, I agree that the clubbing scene at large has always been about fashion, the techno scene has (atleast in my experience) managed to place a lot less importance on it in favour of the musical experience.

Going out to techno parties is pretty much a reason *not* to wear heels for my female friends. High heels are for bars and house nights. :-D

Then again, we don't have a techno venue in Sydney that puts on fashion after parties for Louis Vitton.
