i agree that rough edits and "jazz"-type unexpected stuff is great
but
amazon is not one of those is it???
it's sounds like a proper (magnetic tape)drop-out
i'm gonna record it to the computer and show you all the waveform if you don't
believe me!!! ;-)

yeah i think a lot of the time this was sloppy edits but as time has
gone on and the process has become more digital (ie. not splicing tapes
etc for the edits) i think some roughness is left in to give character.
i know if i'm ever editting something leaving a certain looseness is
nice on the ear.
