Don't suppose I'll be the first to report that the UR
Jaguar remixes hit the shops last Friday 10th March.

Understandably given the context none of the mixes
strays very far from the original, which is still the
best by far, with the Mills mix perhaps trying to do
the most with it. Some interesting chops with the
beats early on and an almost pastoral, lyrical feel
later.

I also stumbled across a copy of the German 'Dance
Division' knock off here in London. (oops? but read
on)

Turns out they have 'covered' rather more than
Rolando's origonal music.

As has already been mentioned on this list the inner
picture label artwork features an image of a tablet
embossed with a Jaguar logo. And guess what? The
Jaguar drawing is 100% identical to the trademark of
the famous Jaguar motor car brand. In fact the
notorious trance mix is actually called the 'E-Type'
mix.

Jaguar cars have been owned Ford since the early
nineties. Ford, like techno music and Tamla before it,
have, I do believe, a rather strong connection with
the city of Detroit, Mich.

I wonder if should this information come to the ear of
a proud local Ford executive he (or she) might have a
word with one of his colleagues at Jaguar, UK? And
further, whether this person might subsequently be
persuaded to encourage one of his army of well paid
legal eagles to write a polite but firm solicitors
letter to Dance Division SONY/BMG Germany and suggest
that they did not appreciate their trademark being
misused in this way.?? Or else chum?

Of course Dirk Whatssit may well have cleared this
particular sample. Then again given his track
record....

Just a thought like but wouldn't it be a wonderful
irony? The Detroit Jaguar bites back!!!!

Nice ring to it in the media eh?

Fox xx
