No one mentioned anything about his set at Nikita last Friday in SF. I just wanted to drop a quick mention of it, and I must say, as someone who has critized Richie's more recent (read: '99 up to present) sets, I was really impressed. About an hour to an hour and half of bangin' (but not the drumcode-stiff type bangin', more inna funky vein), and then almost two hours of beautiful, deep, minimal, bliss. One of the most emotional sets I've seen him play...There was actual melody! And no 909 stupidity. I really felt like he's started trying to take people on a journey again. I thanked him for it afterwards and he said that he was really into it that night as well.
Maybe the final scratch thing has had a positive effect on his programming...it was definitely reminding me of the richie of old... -eli --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
