I do agree that culture is very important. I also think that I was extremely lucky to learn computing at the time when there were many diverse architectures and assembler programming was how you gat the most from the limited resources available. I wish I could teach my target audience the same way, despite the perception that such knowledge is no longer relevant. ++L
