Most of the airlines provide escort facilities even if we have not informed them beforehand. I have used these services. However, I am not sure of Air India. Another disgusting thing is that during exiting the plane, the human assistance arrives very late. Most of the passengers pass by and we have to wait for the escort to come. Hostesses keep on assuring that soon the help is coming but it gets late.
