No need to take this seriously because Windows are not getting installed again
and again. you can keep the key at a safe location and put it again when ever
you go for installation of fresh windows.

  Oops sorry hit send accidentally.
My question is that despite of unlinking pc from the Microsoft how do I keep
my license.
Because each time I activate windows after linking my PC I would have to
provide the product key.

Nope it was the upgrade from home to pro edition and obviously you will need
the key and it will be genuine.
I know that if you link your PC to your Microsoft account and activate
Windows and even the same key can be used in different PCs once we unlink the
device from the Microsoft account.

Now a days, if you purchase a pc or laptop with genuin windows, no license
key will be given to the customers. These windows are activated in
motherboard, so you even can't find your activation key. if you go for fresh
installation of windows, you need not to give your license key not even
  once.
Company will provide your license key only in case of damaging of your
  motherboard.

How do I check whether my product key is registered in my Microsoft account?
Each time when I activated my copy of windows I would have to provide the
product key. Indeed I did activate for the first time after linking my PC
  in to my Microsoft account.
Does unlinking device from the Microsoft account also deactivate our license
  from the account as well?
If I wish to give my laptop is it enough if I unlink my PC from the
  Microsoft account?
  Thanks,
  Ali

Hi Kriti, hope you would be doing great.
As suggested by other experienced members, I would suggest the same but a
  slightly different way.
  1) Go for A back of each and everything that you believe you don’t want to
  lose.
  2) Make sure you have a backup of the windows license key if your
laptop came with a license key, usually this remains in your bios and won’t
go away even you format your hard disk, you can also see whether your
windows key is there in your Microsoft account or not.
  3) Made bootable windows installation DVD/us drive,
  4) Complete erase and re-partition of the hard disk and install
windows and only the required drivers with all the updates.
I had same experiences with my Sony and dell laptops. And could only
  resolved after doing this.
As far as part replacement is concerned, then usually the certified service
center people don’t do this, but if you have problems with the system, get
  it replaced with them.
