I could not understand your comment about Umex 4100. How can I use it in XP? Show me the way if there is one.

Actually there is no need to stick with xp. Once you gets familiar with window7 you will surely love it. In essential situations as i face with umax 4100, you can use xp with a USB head phöe. Remember, there is nothing that doesn't changes but change itself.

Finally try this.

If you are on XP go to devise manager.

right click on Microsoft UAA driver

Disable it and uninstall it.

recommending it because few Real tech HD drivers are incompatible with
UAA driver which installs by default.

Now I remember I also did the same thing few days before when I
perchased my lenovo laptop, I also installed bios update my system
also made some brrr sound and it got automatically restarted,
thereafter my windows didn't take start. ultimately what I had to do I

Hi

When i purchased lenovo laptop i was also having this issue but i solved
it

Mostly it is not recommended to update the driver of bios

I want you to do the following steps

1. Reformat and re install your windows xp and install windows xp sp3
pack professional edition

Go to Lenovo support home US site and click the link auto detect link
which will automatically download and install all the required
softwares and drivers according to your model configuration

It will also install the all required patches for running the audio
because its there in lenovo site

Dont worry thats the best laptop you have purchased

When i have purchased the laptop i also first shifted to windows xp
but now from last 1 month i have shifted to windows 7 and the
performance of my laptop is excellent with the help of the Jaws or
NVDA

I hope you will not face any problem

Hello umesha and others,
The issue that you’re facing has been reported to me by some other folks
too.
Interestingly, many folks who have bought the notebooks in recent
times seemed to have experienced this problem.
I’d like to confess that this issue has sounded pretty bizarre to me
when I’ve heard it the first time, but with the frequent such
occurrences i can tell you that you’re not the only ones facing this,
so chill the head out! <grin>!

The said issue can arise due to many reasons, including the faulty
hardware, driver compatibility, lose slots, RAM slipup, audio
latency, operating system compatibility, etc.
With so many such diversities, Pointing one straight rectification is
just not possible, unfortunately.
Keeping that in mind, I’d like to list down some of the most preferred
solutions below, which can be tried in order to resolve the said
issue.

Driver compatibility:
In many cases, these kinds of problems occurs when there’s a
compatibility problem with your driver and operating system. Please
ensure that the drivers you are installing on windows xp have “xp”
listed in their recommended system software’s list.
Also, try checking the minimum requirements of your drivers.
Sometimes, the service packs might not be compatible enough, and can
cause the sound freezing or distortedt.
You can try updating your windows to the latest service packs and
patches which should solve the issue.

Sound card:
Most of the modern motherboards now comes with in-built sound cards,
which are wonderful, but not in all the situations.
It has been observed that some sound cards are not properly fixed on
the circuitries and therefore they tent to make issues.
The best way to determine if it’s the problem with the sound card
hardware, please try testing your sound with an external soundcard,
preferably the USB sound card, which is easy to install and use
without making any undesired change.
When you have the additional soundcard installed on your system, don’t
forget to change the default sound device to the new card failing
which you would not be able to test it.

Ram:
Simple as it may sound, many folks have recently reported me that the
similar issue has been occurring to them due to the ram not
properly fixed.
Especially while using more than 2 gbs of ram, please make sure that
all your slots are properly constricted and the ram is fixed tighten
enough.
Also, try removing one of your 1 GB rams and then work with your
system for a while for testing if it makes any better effect. I’ve
been told that packing all the ram slots on some motherboard blocks
the internal air to pass, and starts producing system slowdown
therefore.

Audio latency:
Some sound devices have the problem of audio latency, which make the
delay or distortion happen.
To check if any of your devices has the problem of audio latency, you
can use any one of the software applications made for this task.
I prefer installing DPC Latency Checker, which is a small, free
application that allows you to analyze the amount of latency in your
system.
Please search for “DPC Latency Checker” on google in order to download
this, as I do not seem to remember the website at the moment.

Bios update:
You’ve already said, bios update can bring some positive results, so
going with that is not a bad idea.

Virus:
In many cases, simply the viruses, spiwares, malwares etc cause your
system to stuck. Though you’ve already said that you’ve tried doing
clean install of the operating system several times, but some viruses
might be citting inside of your hard disk in drives other than the one
you have your operating system, and causing the problem.
Presuming that you might have already tried scanning your system
against viruses with a good antivirus software, try to do a clean
sweep of your hard drive and then install the operating system and see
if the issue still persists.
Alternatively, install the operating system in a different, external
hard drive and boot your system with that to test if it’s the issue
with this hard drive’s content only.
I’m saying this specifically because you’ve already described that
some engineers have tried running the system with external hard disk
and the results were pleasing.

Operating system:
Whatever hard that you try, sometimes the operating system that you’re
using is not compatible with newer hardware devices. If you’re sure
that the problems that you’re facing occurs only with windows xp and
not with win 7 or any other operating system, upgrading the OS is not
a bad idea either.
I’d like to ensure you that windows7 is a pretty wonderful operating
system and you won’t find any specific problem with this.
Most of the software venders have already made their applications
compatible with win7, and many are making it so fast.
If you are finding the problem with xp and not with win7, I’d advice
you straight to upgrade, being rigid will not serve you much fruitful
stuff.

Finally, as far as my experience goes, every new thing that you try
teaches you something, so rather getting frustrated, enjoy whatever
option you try and It’ll surely allow you to learn something new.

My apologies for such a lengthy email. I just could not stop myself
when I’ve started writing once.
Hope that this will help some of you.

Thanks shona man, sheik, sunil and others
To shona man
Before answering your questions, may I ask you one thing?
May I have your phone number and preferred time of calling so that we
can discuss directly? Because I need the solution very urgently as I
need it for my classes and other works.
I downloaded the drivers properly. The consumer support site has
options for choosing model and OS. I selected my model (Z570) and
windows XP. There is no option to choose between 32 bit and 64 bit
versions of XP. In the next page after clicking on “continue”, I got
the list of drivers and I downloaded all of them. In that list, that
realtek audio driver is said to be for windows xp only. Its version is
5.10.0.6267 and it is a 106 MB file and updated on 9-3-11. The URL of
the download page is
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/driversdownloads/APR_Driver_List.aspx?CategoryID=307140&OS=Windows%20XP
Though I repeatedly tell them that I want win xp only, many people ask
me to change my os to win7.
I have already registered a complaint but not with the number you
provided but on 180030029929. Shall I register once again with the
number you provided? The engineer visited my site and checked by
replacing the hard disk with one with win 7 installed on it. It ran
smoothly for few minutes. He tried reinstalling the driver and it did
not solve the problem.
I don’t think that problem is with my OS because the same OS was
running without any error on other machines with realtek audio.
Now I am of the doubt whether fault is with hardware or driver. The
engineer reported that its with driver after checking with win 7 for
few minutes. Yesterday I downloaded and installed another driver from
realtek site which is updated somewhere in October and it also had
same problem. I don’t think realtek whose audio devices are sold so
widely has compatibility problem with win xp. Further even in win xp,
it runs smoothly for few minutes. Later it gets struck. Mostly running
for longer times like 40-50 minutes will cause it to happen. When it
occurs, all the processes get slower. Mouse pointer jumps instead of
moving smoothly. I don’t know about running win 7 for such longer
time. Some times it get corrected itself. Can these symptoms happen
with driver problems? Or is it a hardware (circuit) problem?
One more information I want to give: it has a nvidia graphic card for
which I have no driver for win xp. It was showing 5 items with yellow
question mark; one video device and 4 audio devices in device manager.
But disabling all of them either through device manager or BIOS did
not solve the problem.

To sheik:
I tried many times to call you but I did not get you.

Hi I think that you have not installed proper audio driver, can u tell
me from where u found the audio driver program? make sure that u
selected the correct audio driver from the lenovo website in consumer
support section. Some of the driver are for 64 bit make sure u
installed one which is compatible with Z570 and windows xp. Since the
machine came with free dos then it is supposed to be run properly with
each os. They cann't say that only win 7 will run properly. Ask the
technical team to register ur complaint on 18004259003 and engeneer
will visit the sight.
But once again I will say that make sure about the driver which u
installed.

Dear umesh, due to my health problem I could not respond you properly.
Since i'm away from my computer, I could not fulfill your need.
Another
onething is that, Bios upgradation has nothing to do with this issue
since
bios deals with the circuit/system devices. Logically, it is an
internal
problem under your respective operating system (XP).
