I can confirm that this patch allows me to boot with the MTRR code, without
acpi=ht and without kernel panic. (I get a couple of messages about clearing
bits flashing up at the beginning of the boot. It happened so fast I didn't
catch the whole message.)

Please let me know if I should be trying any other patches.
