One option is to have special flag in booting kernel which prevents
non-essential battery/thermal(?)/ac from installing.

^^^ This won't work because EC can be accessed from GPE handler for example,
and it is here.

The second option is exactly what I meant.

I did that locally, but it seems that I am going to have a lot of fun....
because I have here now problems with both suspend part and resume (2.6.33-rc3)
I guess that something is broken again.

I restore 2.6.32, apply the patch I did locally, and see how well it
performs...
