I can't comment on that since I no longer have access to a 1005p.  I would be
surprised if the 1001P would not run a clone image of a Win7 partition copied
from a 1005P, for example.

The issue at hand, namely that the display brightness keys work in nonlinear
fashion and that acpi_osi=Linux as boot param fixes this, is exactly the same
on both devices.  I can confirm that much.
