IE6 will be looked upon historically as one of the most colossal wasters of 
time and money ever devised. This is not hyperbole -- any web developer will 
agree.

Given its market share at this point, there is no point in even trying to 
support it. From markeshare.hitslink.com:

"In November, IE6 share dropped to 14.55% (including editions). Much of that 
share remains in China where IE6 usage share is 45.20%."
