It's inhuman what Microsoft puts us through

Glad to hear they're keeping their standards up.

A (ex 4D developer) friend of mine years ago lobbied me to come across to the 'real world' and that Microsoft was so far ahead in technology because it was so big and had so many people working for it.

For a year I immersed myself in V-Studio (with VB 6). I really hated it, but over time a strange satisfaction emerged after completing a project and getting through all the bugs and becoming an 'expert' in what bug affected what version etc. Wrapping SQL queries in about 3 layers of objects and string manipulation code just to get a simple query done also became somewhat satisfying.

However it began to dawn on me that I was being affected by 'battered wife' syndrome - the more I suffered, the more I became attached to the environment as I was investing emotional (instead of just intellectual) energy into it.

Fortunately I managed to prise myself free and I shall never venture in that direction again.

Congratulations on having got the 64-bit version (nearly) done !

Peter
